High Quality Blue Ceramic Abrasive Grains with Competitive Prices
Ceramic abrasive grain is also called ceramic microcrystalline abrasive grain. Each of abrasive particles is composed of lots of sub-micron alumina ceramic crystals. It is a high performance corundum abrasive grains with microcrystalline structure by sol-gel process and sintering, which has good development prospect. Compared with conventional corundum abrasive grains, it has the characteristics of strong cutting ability and high grinding efficiency; It has good self-sharpening and great heat dissipation during grinding which can avoid burning workpieces; It has higher toughness and is able to continuously expose new cutting surfaces, and at same time, has good grinding stability and can improve the service life of products.
It is especially suitable for making coated abrasives and bonded abrasives: longer service life and higher grinding efficiency. In addition, compared with synthetic diamond and CBN, ceramic abrasive grains have better versatility, which can be used for not only dry or wet grinding with water or oil cooling, but also for grinding black and non-ferrous metals, and effectively applied to grinding special materials such as stainless steel and heat-resistant alloy.
The products include two series: CA-F series for making Bonded Abrasives and CA-P series for making Coated Abrasives.

According to the crystal structure of ceramic abrasive grains, it can be divided into two categories: One is represented by 3M’s Cubitron abrasive, and China's blue ceramic corundum abrasives; The other is represented by Saint-Gobain's SG abrasive.

2. Crushing Performance Comparison of Ceramic Abrasives and Conventional Abrasives
As can be seen from the picture, because of low toughness and large crystal size of common fused corundum abrasives, the abrasive particles will be flattened and passivated after the working face being ground off when grinding. Under the action of grinding force, the abrasive particles are easy to fall off from grinding tools, with short service life. But for ceramic abrasive grains, their whole wear process is also their self-sharpening process of abrasive particles, and new sharp micro-grinding blade will be constantly exposed, making the abrasive particles always in a sharp state. The grinding tools made of ceramic abrasive grains have the characteristics of longer service life, better self-sharpening, and higher cutting efficiency, and it is not easy to burn the workpieces.
a.It must be low temperature vitrified bond.
SG abrasive is suitable for ≤1000 ℃ sintering temperature, and CA suitable for ≤1100 ℃sintering temperature. CA can tolerate higher sintering temperature, easy for making vitrified bond with excellent properties. The bond with higher strength is beneficial to CA performance into full play.
b.It can be used to mix with other abrasive grains.
a. It needs better bond with better grain control ability than other corundum abrasives.
b. To increase the hardness of grinding wheel, will be conducive to the control of abrasive particles.
c. Surface treatment of abrasive grains to enhance the bonding strength of abrasive particles and bond.
